Meet Irene

U.S. Congress Candidate Texas District 16

Irene Armendariz-Jackson, a native of El Paso, Texas, has strong connections to both the Ciudad Juárez and El Paso communities. Born on October 19, she is a Realtor, small business owner, and a College Instructor in Government, Political Science and Public Policy. Her parents, Ernesto and Graciela Armendariz, are legal Mexican immigrants and naturalized U.S. citizens. Irene and her husband have been married for over thirty years and have three daughters and five grandchildren. Irene’s husband is a retired Border Patrol Agent and a Navy Veteran.

Having won the primary, Irene is now headed to the General Election against Veronica Escobar, a progressive candidate endorsed by “Beto” O’Rourke. Escobar has controversially welcomed illegal aliens and likened El Paso to the new “Ellis Island” during Vice President Kamala Harris’s visit.

El Paso’s population is over 80% Hispanic, whose values align with the Republican Party, although many have been misled to believe the Democrats represent their interests. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Irene is uniquely positioned to connect with the district’s residents and help them understand that they should be voting Republican.

The El Paso GOP has never had a candidate like Irene, who can communicate effectively with the vast majority of the population. She needs your support to reach everyone in El Paso through every available channel. El Paso is not inherently a Democrat city, but rather a non-voting city. Irene has already increased the Republican vote by 12% and is confident that, with your support this November, she will secure the congressional seat and contribute to President Trump’s victory.

Irene has held various political campaign positions; she has served as a Volunteer Organizer, helped in communications and strategic planning, and as a Domestic Policy Advisor, to the Republican Candidate for District 16, during the 2016 election.

Irene has been involved in many community initiatives as a program manager and counselor whose main objective is to promote strong family and moral values; she has invested many volunteer hours in children’s programs, pro-life activities, and support groups that bring to light the human trafficking crisis in the borderland of El Paso.

Irene holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Howard Payne University and a master’s degree in Government with a concentration in law and public policy from Regent University’s Robertson School of Government.
