I'm Irene Armendariz Jackson

Our national sovereignty depends on having clearly defined, secure borders.

Irene’s top priorities in Congress: ‘Defeat’ inflation, End illegal immigration

"Whether it’s protecting preborn children, restoring jobs and local businesses, securing the border, lowering taxes, keeping our promises to our veterans and law enforcement, or defending our second amendment, we will never quit our fight for the causes that matter to us all."

American values we live by

America is a nation that welcomes millions of immigrants who undergo a legal process to enter its borders. This process is crucial for the security of American citizens and those seeking the American Dream. Legal immigrants in the US have the chance to access all the opportunities the country provides and embrace our American heritage, which includes values and laws that ensure the safety of our communities.

Border Security/Immigration

We must not compromise border security in the pursuit of immigration reform. According to a recent report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the increasing influx of illegal immigration at the southern border is projected to reduce the federal deficit by a substantial $897 billion over the next ten years. This trajectory is unsustainable and poses a risk of financial collapse, potentially pushing the US towards becoming a third-world nation. The ongoing struggle with immigration reform continuously plagues Democrats during election seasons without yielding any tangible outcomes. It is crucial to recognize that the border crisis extends beyond economic figures. When deliberating on immigration policies, it is imperative to account for the concealed expenses and societal repercussions. To address the border challenges effectively, we must put an end to catch- and-release practices, combat the exploitation of America's asylum regulations, allow Border Patrol Agents to focus on their core duties rather than processing undocumented individuals, and enhance the compensation for Border Patrol personnel. https://www.cbo.gov/publication/60165

Tax Relief

El Paso, Texas is burdened with high taxes and low-paying jobs. This is a result of Democrat leaders governing for over 60 years. Over 67% of the voters in El Paso identify property taxes as their number one priority for voting in November. America is burdened with high inflation due to the disastrous policies of the Biden Administration. What does this mean for the citizens of El Paso? We continue to pay high property taxes and add on the high cost of surviving and it leaves El Paso with increased poverty in our district. El Paso has been known for “cheap labor” for many years because the same people who help the current representative get elected are the same elites benefiting from the “cheap labor.” Irene’s family was directly affected by the low wages when she was growing up and her dad had to leave for months at a time because as a construction worker, he was poorly paid leaving Irene’s family with a decision to make, to separate for a few months or go hungry. This is personal to Irene!

Economy

The Biden Administration's impact on the economy has been challenging, particularly affecting middle-class and low-income citizens. It is evident that four years ago, our money had more purchasing power, and many Americans are feeling the strain. To address this, tax reductions and collaboration with local officials are essential to attract high-paying jobs. El Paso has a brain drain, with UTEP graduates leaving due to the lack of well-paying opportunities. Irene is committed to securing federal grants for improved education and poverty alleviation efforts. Inflation is causing prices to surge, highlighting the necessity to prioritize policies that put America first and support economic growth for all citizens.

Pro Life

Irene is unapologetically Pro-Life. It’s in our Declaration of Independence; Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Irene has been involved with the Pro-Life movement for many years and she will support an Amendment to the Constitution recognizing the baby in the womb as a person granting them the same rights as a born person has. The brutality of abortion is a topic Americans don’t want to hear about, if we continue to ignore it thousands more babies will be sacrificed on the altar of convenience. For those who find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy, we should do better to provide the economic help they need to be willing to have the baby. We cannot continue to condone the violent murder of innocent children.
